Yachats Community Health Clinic is staffed by a Physician Assistant and a Nurse Practitioner under the supervision of Robert Jacques, M.D.   Doctor Jacques is also available to see patients on a limited schedule by appointment only.  We have appointments available Monday through Friday.  As of June 1, 2007, our permanent provider Edward Taylor, P.A.-C. will begin seeing patients by appointment Monday through Friday.  Prior to June 1, patients will be scheduled with Edward Taylor, P.A.-C. and Nurse Practitioner Susan Babcock.

The Yachats Clinic is always willing to see Medicare and Medicaid patients. We do not limit the number of these patients we will see. We are contracted to see patients with most common private insurance carriers. This includes (but is not limited to)- Lifewise, PacificSource, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Mailhandlers, GEHA, Samaritan Advantage, Health Net, and PacificCare. Our billing department is happy to assist you with insurance questions.

Our Clinic participates in the Vaccines for Children Program, the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, can help you complete an application to the Oregon Health plan, and is a Federally Certified Rural Health Clinic. We offer a sliding fee scale for the uninsured.

The Yachats Clinic can perform the following lab tests and get the results while you wait: rapid strep throat test, routine urinalysis, pregnancy test, blood sugar, hemoglobin (to check for anemia), oxygen saturation, EKG, audiology, pulmonary function testing and selected microscope tests.

We draw blood for many different lab tests done off site. Results of common tests are returned within 24 hours and other test results are returned in 5-10 days. We arrange Xrays, mammograms, bone density studies, colonoscopies, MRIs and many other diagnostic tests.

The Yachats Clinic biopsies suspicious skin lesions. We will obtain a pathology report in about 8 days. We treat precancerous lesions and warts with liquid nitrogen. We remove benign skin tags and ingrown toenails.

The Yachats Clinic strongly supports preventive medicine. We do many well woman, well man, and well child exams. You can utilize the clinic to obtain individualized plans for maintaining your health. Our clinic is happy to see people who are vacationing on the Oregon coast. We see many people who live on the Oregon coast only part of the year. Those patients may benefit from our ability to co-manage your health care with a provider located in another area.

The Yachats Clinic performs nebulizer treatments for asthma, does 12 lead EKG’s, treats all types of wounds, gives flu shots and other vaccines, and makes referrals to specialists in all fields.

The Yachats Clinic is independent of all HMO or hospital organizations. This means we have no incentive to prescribe tests or referrals you don’t need. We also have no incentive to restrict your access to tests or referrals that you do need.
